Randy Magnusson

President, Publicity

Randy Magnusson I have been an Associate Member of the Selkirk Legion since 1997. I was first elected to the Executive Committee in 2003. I have served as Entertainment Chairman, Publicity Chairman, 2nd Vice President and 1st Vice President. I look forward to serving as President of Branch 42 and working together with the Executive and the members making our Branch the best possible.

Ken Simon

Past President, Honours & Awards, Poppy & Service Officer

Ken Simon I joined the Selkirk Legion in 1970, and although I have spent most of my adult life outside of Manitoba I was proud to remain a member of our branch. I was elected to the Executive in 2002.

I retired in 2003 after spending 35 years in the Canadian Navy. I served on many ships on both coasts and in Ottawa. My wife Darlene and I are very happy to be home again. I look forward to working with the Legion for the benefit of our veterans and our community.

Lorne Thorvaldson

1st Vice President, Sports

Lorne Thorvaldson I have been an Associate Member of the Selkirk Legion since 2001. I was elected to the Executive in 2003 and have served as House Chairman, Ways and Means Chairman and 2nd Vice President. This is my second year as 1st Vice President. I enjoy the comradeship of the members and guests, and working with the other members of the Executive to make our branch strong so we can offer our veterans and community the support they rightly deserve.

Bill Parisien

2nd Vice President, Navy League & Sea Cadets

Bill Parisien My wife and I have been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 13 years. We have been with the Selkirk Branch for a little over 4 years. Previously we were members of Branch 141, 117 and Branch 2. It was at Branch 2 Weston and Brooklands where I got my start belonging to various Executive chairs.

I work in the underground sewer and water construction trade for all of my working years. I hope in the future I will get the chance to meet you at the Branch and be able to help you to the best of my knowledge or maybe just for some friendly converstaion.

Carol Casemore

Carol Casemore I have been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 29 years. I have worked as a member of the Executive for our Legion serving on almost every committee as chairperson as well as holding office as President in 1993. I return to the Executive this year as Membership chairperson

I thoroughly enjoy the social activities our Legion provides its membership and the company of our members.

Bud Mitchell

Poppy & Service Officer

Bud Mitchell I have been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 28 years. The first 18 years I was a member in Oshawa, Ontario. I have been a member of the Executive Committee for the past 6 years. In the past I have been Sports Chairman, House Chairman and Membership Chairman. I enjoy organizing the Cribbage Tournaments and volunteering for the Friday afternoon meat draws. I am always willing to lend a hand when it comes to helping organize an event.

Sylvia Sinclair

Sylvia Sinclair I have been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 42 for 6 years.

I enjoy working with the public and will be quite happy to give a helping had to anyone in need.

I currently run a restaurant in Lower Fort Garry and in the city of Winnipeg at the Manitoba Metis Federation building.

Sheila Snider

Ways & Means

Sheila Snider I have been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion since 2001. I am also a member of the Over Sixty Club and I presently serve on their Executive as Treasurer. I have also volunteered with many groups over the last forty years. I was asked to serve on the Executive in the position of Ways and Means Chairperson and will endeavor to do the position to the best of my ability.

Carl Chanas

Membership

Carl Chanas I have been an Associate Member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 18 years. I was elected to the Executive Committee for the year 2008 as Membership Chairman.

I run a social dance class every Thursday at Branch 42 from 1930 - 2100 (7:30pm - 9:30pm) until the end of April. It's a fun class, there is no charge, and every one can learn to dance or even just brush up on their dancing by coming out and practice.

Margo Oliver

Secretary

Margo Oliver I joined the Legion in 1984 getting very involved right away holding various positions on the Executive. I have been Secretary Treasurer since 1995 and was made a life member in 2000.

Both my children are members of the Selkirk Legion. I am very active in bowling and enjoy participating in the bowling league.
